Rolling
Ridge Riding Program
 |
|
This program is for handicapped children; speech
impediments, balance and coordination, in
wheelchairs or using walkers, and other physical
problems. Horses are used as therapy for both
physical and mental improvement. The children
ride the horses in 4H horse shows now. They
compete in the classes riding their assigned
horse.

These two horses, "Sammy" big red guy in
forefront, and the little pinto mare behind him
is "Tinkerbelle". I trained both of these horses
to drive, and function with handicapped children

Rolling
Ridge Riding Program - Easter Egg Hunt
 |
|
One of the horses currently involved is
Moonbeam. The Sheriff of Rockingham County rides
down to the 'woods' to get the Easter Bunny
(Alice).
Other horses include: Dakota - a nice bay
gelding, Starburst - a semi-retired mare, and
Dixie - a black & white mare that is the newest
addition.
There are also two minis now involved in the
program. Their involvement is to pull the
children in the carts and stand to be decorated
at Easter. Albert, a mini donkey, is also a
valuable asset to the team.
