None of us like it but we know that there are horses out there that have been traumatized and abused. When you have a traumatized horse on your farm it becomes very difficult, if not impossible, to do -anything- to the horse. Catching the horse in the pasture is generally impossible, and even in a stall it is dangerous for you and the horse. You usually can't even perform normal activities that are essential to the horses well-being such as worming, vaccinations, hoof trimming and grooming.

It is a fact that many miniature foals have leg and hoof problems when they are born. It may be lax or constricted tendons or a more serious structural problem with the leg or hoof. By the time the foal is 18 months old it is usually too late to make any major improvements in the legs and hoofs.
