Farrier Services

Foot care is an important part of the health and fitness of your horse. A quality hoof care program is achieved through a team approach by you, your veterinarian, and your farrier. Nutrition, environment, and exercise combined with correct trimming procedures all play a part for healthy hoof growth.

Alice "Doc" Nelson is ready to help you take care of the feet of your miniature horses. She has been providing farrier services to miniature horses since 1995.

Besides normal trimming services, "Doc" excels  in special hoof care for dwarfs and other extraordinary problems.

Some of the additional farrier services that she performs are:

• Crack Repair
• Equine Nutrition
• Founder Treatment
• Laminitis Treatment
• Navicular Treatment
• Hoof Reconstruction
• Pedal Osteitis Treatment
• White Line Disease Treatment

Hooves before trimming

Hooves after second trimming

A Zebo, named Rodeo. We trim his hooves 2-3 times a year. Tennis balls on his horns keep him from hurting the smaller animals around him.

Eeyore is a Mammoth Ass.  The breed originally comes from France. He lives on the same farm as the Zebo and gets his own hooves trimmed.
